What ChatGPT does

ChatGPT is a hosted chat application that connects to remote MCP servers over streamable HTTP and exposes their tools to the model in a conversation. A server can also register a UI resource so an MCP Apps component renders inline in the chat.

Why teams reach for it: A server published to the universal plugin directory reaches ChatGPT users and can render its own inline interface.
