What mcp-go does
mcp-go is a Go library for building MCP servers and clients: a server is created with `server.NewMCPServer`, tools are declared with typed parameter helpers and registered with `AddTool`, and the library handles connection management, protocol compliance and message routing. It implements the MCP specification version 2025-11-25 with backward compatibility to 2024-11-05, and runs over stdio, SSE, StreamableHTTP or an in-process transport.
Why teams reach for it: Go developers need a library for building Model Context Protocol servers with minimal boilerplate.

What will you use to implement the protocol?
A framework or SDK gives developers pre-built code for creating an MCP server or client, so they don't have to implement the protocol from scratch.
