What RMCP does
An official Rust implementation of the Model Context Protocol SDK that supports building both servers and clients using tokio async runtime.
Why teams reach for it: For a Rust service this is the official SDK and it tracks the specification closely: it implements the stable 2026-07-28 revision, including server discovery and negotiation, transport-neutral subscriptions, long-running tasks, response caching, multi-round-trip requests and standard HTTP routing headers, while remaining compatible with 2025-11-25 and earlier peers, and the same rmcp crate builds either end of the connection on the tokio runtime.
How RMCP compares
Fields the vendor doesn't document are left blank here rather than guessed — a blank means nothing verified, not a "no."

What will you use to implement the protocol?
A framework or SDK gives developers pre-built code for creating an MCP server or client, so they don't have to implement the protocol from scratch.
